Once you have an account and have submitted articles to DiggIt, then what? How do you make/get friends and ask them to digg your article?

While it is very hard to raise your articles rank in Digg, the exposure the site gets is pretty significant -- just adding your article to Digg will make a huge difference in your views. Digg and Stumbleupon are so important in my opinion.

I'd do the following:

1.Make sure you always digg and stumble your articles.
2.Once you've dugg your articles ask your friends to sign up and digg the articles as well.

Anytime you promote the article, ask people to digg it as well if they like it. Once your article becomes popular on Digg, hopefully people will take notice of your user name and will start to check out the other items that you have dugg.

Digg works by placing the highest dugg articles towards the beginning of their site/respective section. The users literally decide what is important for people to read and what should be buried never to be read again.

The site is starting to get more and more traffic. We have not had a week, so far, that was not a significant increase in visits. In a few months, I think authors are going to be getting some really great page views. The only thing I ask for all of us to do, is to promote, promote, promote.

Toni, I know you do a great job of this so it really isn't directed at you haha, but definitely keep up the great work!

Emails, forums, signatures, message lists, chat rooms, business cards and flyers are all great places to place a link to your Speak About It profile.

It's easy to add friends on Digg. At the bottom of every Dugg article, it will show you who submitted it. You can click on their name, view their profile, and add them as a friend.

Digg and stumble are great. Try social networking sites also. I put my articles up on del.icio.us
From there, you can export your bookmarks and upload them to as many other social bookmarking sites as you want; furl, blinklist, magnolia, to name a few. I haven't done this for this site yet, but am in the process. I have 60 articles on another site and the only thing I do is 3 social networking sites. I get close to 1000 hits a day. Much more than many others on the site. Also, many on sites like this are not looking to make money, just have some fun. It's important even for those to market thier writing so that the site as a whole gets exposure which will keep it around for longer.
