“I love you”, the three simple words that are supposed to carry the weight of truthful emotion, yet so often, they become meaningless. The words are tossed around so easily even before the feelings have had time to grow and root into a solid foundation, a solid relationship, and again, it has lost its meaning. The words “I love you” should be a gift in themselves, especially when they fall off the tongue and resonate in the sound of the voice of that truly special someone.

We can go around all day saying “I love you” and trying to find the best way to say it, but if there is nothing behind the words, no show of respect or undeniable appreciation, and the sentiment will never be felt.

Many times we do the relationship tango and the saying the words “I love you” just simply become routine, or something we know we have to say because that’s just what you say when you are in a relationship. The strength and power that should be behind those words are deflated.

So, what is a great way to say “I love you”? Say it when you truly mean it and feel it, because when you express it in that moment it will be heard and it will be felt deeply by that special someone receiving them. Then, make sure you make time to show your special someone that they are loved. It is definitely in those little attentive actions that we can partake in that we are able to make someone feel loved. If your actions do not reflect love, then no matter how you say those three simple words, they will not truly be felt.

In other words, we can say “I love you” all we want, but if our everyday actions do not reflect an ounce of love, then the words become worthless to share. You cannot spend your time thinking up different ways to say “I love you” if you cannot live and act and breath the words in everything you do. You can be materialistic and convince yourself that the only real way to say “I love you” is through buying a gift, or you may believe that you have to jump through creativity hoops just to say “I love you”, but when you really love someone, the only step needed is to just say it.

There is only one real way to say “I love you”, and that is to just say it sincerely and honestly; then be prepared to back it up with a never-ending display of appreciation in this person you love.
