How many times have you been invited to a potluck meal and didn't know what to take? The problem arises when you know several people are going to attend and there is a good chance that many of these people could end up bringing the same dish as you are planning on taking. A sure way to have a crowd pleasing dish is to take a Butterfinger Creme Pie.
This pie takes only 15 minutes to make from start to finish, is very inexpensive to make, and leaves people wanting more.
Gather together the following ingredients:
1 8-ounce pkg. cream cheese (let sit out until room temperature)
1 8-ounce pkg. cool whip
1 king size butterfinger candy bar (frozen)
1 graham cracker pie crust that has been chilled
Using a hand mixer, beat soften cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add 1/2 of the frozen butterfinger candy bar that has been crushed (I use my rolling pin and hit the frozen candy bar several times). Mix until well blended. Gently blend the package of cool whip into the cream cheese mixture and then spoon it into the graham cracker pie crust. Sprinkle the remaining crushed butterfinger candy bar on top and refridgerate until ready to serve.
This makes a wonderful dessert item for a home meal or potluck dinner. Be sure to cut small pieces as it is very rich.
