If you don't mind your body, your spirit will shine through it. Judgement is based on Ego (a desease of the mind). This is why you never want to judge anyone or anything, especially yourself. We all have the tendency to be over critical of ourselves at times, especially when it comes to weight issues. It seems most people feel they need to go on a diet. Especially during the holidays, or soon as Spring arrives. However, very few people actually succeed at this.

I believe the reason is, we all want instant results, and life usually does not cooperate in that manner. Time is always a factor because we are not focused on the Now (which is all there ever is). You cannot just think of how your body will be or how it use to be. Instead focus on what is and then changes will happen. When you become present with the moment, you will then know what needs to be done and you will do it effortlessly by accepting the situation for what it is. If you need more exercise, or should cut down on sweets, whatever it is, you only need to accept it and then action happens. You will always choose the right course of action through conscious awareness and acceptance.

However, you can still picture yourself as the weight you wish to be. Your subconscious mind always thinks in pictures. By feeding your mind the images you want (along with positive thoughts), in time, they magically become your reality. This is what I call "conscious creation". You are aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Be the observer of those thoughts without judging them. Creative visualizations are a trick we can play on our subconscious minds. You are not looking at your past or future; picture yourself thin as in the NOW.

True happiness comes when you are in the present moment; the Now. You can always enter the Now by focusing on your breathing. Try doing simple breathing exercise several times a day. Simply take a deep breath in, notice how your chest rises and falls when you inhale and exhale. Take three deep breathes at a time throughout your day. Soon it will become natural for you to bring consciousness or (awareness) into your day. One conscious breathe can be considered a meditation.

Feel the aliveness that is within you. We are all made up of energy from the source of all energy. When you look to your past or future is when suffering begins. You want things to be better or different than they are. This brings doubt, fears, anxiety, frustration, worry, concern, all of which are negative energy.  This negative energy feeds off of you and creates more negative thoughts until you are unhappy with life. Then you will probably put on more weight.

To be successful at dieting you only need to reverse this vicious cycle and create a flow of positive energy. By being present in the now is where you find true happiness. You want to remain conscious of your thoughts as much as possible. This is called "conscious awareness" and is what Eckhart Tolle speaks about in his spiritual teachings. You can do this through meditation, also known as stillness. It is through the stillness of your mind that all the answers you seek can be found.

What this amounts to is be in the "present moment" as much as possible. Learn to except what is and then you can change it. You want to keep positive thoughts, by doing this, the negative ones are already eliminated. The more positive, the less negative. When in the Now, focus on all the good your body does for you. It really is miraculous when you think really about it.

Now you should be having feelings of graitude (one of the most powerful emotions there is outside of love). This is a good way to begin your visualizations. Let your mind create for you everything you wish for (the perfect weight), by making it believe, in fact, you already have it. Use your imagination and dream big. Your feelings and emotions should be in line with the way you would feel if you already had what you want (weight loss).

Here are some pointers for you to be aware of:

Mind Exercise:
  • Think yourself thin at all times. The subconscious mind picks up on those images as factual, and that is where power lies... (Those images turn into your reality).
  • Visualize running or exercising. Scientific studies have proven if you visualize clearly enough that you are working out, it can manifest into physical results.
  • Know how powerful you are. You can do anything you put your mind to.
  • Affirmations. Keep filling your mind with positive thoughts as much as possible while eliminating negative ones.
  • Use the aid of self hypnosis cd's. You can download them right to your computer. Just relax and listen. I like The Hidden Secret, but there are several others for you to choose from.
  • Write down your goals in advance. Now you only need to follow through! Also, keep a journal of your weight loss success (writing is very powerful, the subconsciuos percieves anything as fact more quickly through writing). Write to yourself (your subconscious) how good it feels to exrcise, to be thin, how much you are enjoying your healthy, spirited body.
  • Do not think of dieting, Instead focus on how enjoyable your day is and will continue to be. During meal times, let your body decide what it wants. Keep in mind, all that your body does for you, and you will want to nourish it properly.
  • Spiritual Exercise:
  • Believe in your power; your true self. Do this by keeping the faith. Faith in yourself, God, and/ or the Universe.
  • Thank God/ Universe daily for your most perfect body and metabolism. (Accept your body for all the goodness in it).  Gratitude is it's own energy field. An energy frequency that draws more to you.
  • Breathe. Just breathe. Give full attention to your breathe, notice how the chest expands and sinkens with each breath. This brings consciousness to to you. Peace, awareness, and tranquity. You cannot be anything else when you are focusing on your breathing.
  • Feel the aliveness of each part of your body. Start with your hands and work your way down. That aliveness is you.
  • Meditate. Find the stillness within you. Explore and become one with your inner self.
  • Physical Exercise:
  • Join a gym.
  • Go for a walk, a swim, a jog, a run, climb stairs, ride a bike, or rollerblade.
  • Register for dance classes, yoga, palates, tennis, karate, the list goes on.
  • Try out for sports
  • Exercise balls are great fun to play with.
  • Make it a point to dance at least once a week (even if it's in your living room). Louis Van Amstel from Dancing with the Stars has created a dance instruction cd you can download right now.  Here is the link: Celebrity Dance Instruction.
Dieting Tips:
  • Eat sensibly and in moderation at all times. It is better to have several small amounts of food than two or three large ones. Be sure to include fiber.
  • Try to eat nothing but fresh fruit everyday until noon. It will then be able to move directly to your small intestines where it is processed into energy. Far better than coffee because this is natural energy. I know coffee is hard to give up completely, but maybe mix it with half decaf if not all.
  • Throw away your scale! What do you need that for? If you pants fit, no problem. If they are too tight, drop to the ground and do some sit ups (amongst other exercises). And if they are too big, buy new ones to celebrate you have lost weight (or just take them in)!
  • Drink lots of water (Ice water speeds up your metabolism).
  • Green tea after each meal (This aids in cleansing your system, it is full of antioxidants).
