These are instructions that will help your enjoy life.
First, don’t let things get you down too easily. Stay strong
and push stressful things out of your mind until you are ready to deal with
them.
Second, take care of yourself. Stay healthy by exercising
regularly and seeing your doctor for routine visits. Exercising can do a lot
for your emotional and mental state. It will literally make you feel better by
the time you’re done.
Third, always view your troubles in a positive way. Don’t
think negative; this will put more stress on you. Think positive and look at
your problems as simple ones. Think about how many people have bigger problems
than yours.
Fourth, make sure you have social support. At times social
support seems like they’re part of the problem, but they can help you a great
deal. Psychologists have discovered that people with strong social support are
less likely to get health problems. There was a study done once where two
groups were giving an injection that makes them more likely to catch a cold.
Then the groups were observed and in the end it turned out that the group who
had the strongest social support didn’t get sick despite the injection that was
supposed to make them sick. The other group did catch a cold.
Fifth, have fun once in a while. I am not saying go out partying
and getting drunk; then drive your car and get into an accident. No! I am
totally against drinking alcohol; I am saying have fun in other ways. For me,
one thing I would consider fun is writing. I enjoy doing it and it helps me
relax. As soon as my fingers hit the keyboard it’s hard to stop them.
Last, but not least is have faith. This actually ranks as
the first step, but I left it to the end because I didn’t want those who don’t
have faith to be turned away. Faith can be a very, very strong part of our
life; we just have to put the effort into fitting it into our lives. What relives
my stress and really makes my day is when I pray five times a day. That clears
my mind and helps me stabilize mentally and emotionally. Getting closer to God
doesn’t take hard work, it just takes determination. Now this article wasn’t
about religion to start with, but I believe faith is a really strong helper
when it comes to reliving stress.
So if you try and implement the above steps into your
everyday life, then you should be seeing results.
