Holidays, they are a times of happiness, love, joy, friendship, peace, hope, and family. Too bad most of the world forgets what it is for. Everyone looks forward to the holidays but it seems that every time the actual season comes around, stress, fear of financial difficulties, trying to set up for a large group of family members, and all the holiday baking seems to get everyone lost in their less than perfect reality. Well, fear not, here's your how to guide for holiday happiness.
Let's talk about family first. The holidays are a time to celebrate the fact that we are grateful for our friends and family members. There are times when those certain Aunt Sue's and Uncle Larry's become the dread of the day. There are things we can do to turn this around. Number one, we should think of all those things we love about that person. Sure Uncle Larry may speak loudly and obnoxiously about everything involving his bad back, but he always gives you a big hug and let's you know how much he loves you. Focus on that when it starts and when you visualize, see him healthy and happy about his life. With focus you'll notice that maybe he'll stop talking about everything that is wrong and start talking about everything right.
Financial instability is everyone's largest fear and it seems to come on ten fold during the holidays. Your mind becomes full of fear that you won't be able to get everyone all the stuff they wanted. First of all, just remind yourself how grateful you are for the money you do have. Also, remember that the holidays are about love and not how big the presents are. It sounds like a sentimental movie but it is very true. Your family members should know this. Visualize everyone so happy after opening presents, you could be one of the happiest in the visualization. Feel how you would feel knowing you could pay for all the presents. Just know it and you will be grateful for how it all turns out.
Being alone on the holidays always seems to be a huge deal for most people. Start by being grateful for everything around you. I mean truly and really grateful for it all. Life is a wonderful gift in itself. See yourself surrounded by people you love. Feel the joy within yourself. Let go of the loneliness and feel how wonderful you are once again. Love is here for you. Maybe you will end up spending the holidays alone, but knowing the love is there and learning to love time with yourself may be worth the time. The Universe works in attractive ways to help you benefit your soul.
So, let go of that holiday stress and let the happiness flood in. Suddenly, you'll find the holiday season to be the time of joy you always knew it was. Christmas cookies, roasted turkeys, carved pumpkins, and pumpkin spice lattes galore. Bring on that beautiful season and remember to keep the love and gratefulness in your heart. Happy holidays!
