There are many rumors that have been floating around since America’s response to the terrorist attacks on America on 9/11 that Osama bin Laden has died
One of the most recent claims is that Benazir Bhutto, who was killed in a suicide attack against her, said the name of the man she claimed killed bin Laden as she died.
In a November 2, 2007 interview with Al-Jazeera TV, Bhutto spoke English and told correspondent David Frost that Osama bin Laden was dead and the person who killed him was Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. Omar Sheikh is one of the persons convicted for the kidnapping and killing of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
During this interview on the program Frost Over The World (which can be found on www.youtube.com) stated “Omar Sheikh is the man who murdered Osama Bin Laden.” What is peculiar about this interview is that seasoned correspondent David Frost did not even pause to inquire more about the statement that Bin Laden dead. David Frost just continues with the interview as if he didn’t just hear this statement.There have been many speculations and claims that Bin Laden is in fact dead. In the video Al Qaeda released December 27, 2001 the viewer can clearly see an ailing bin Laden. It is stated that he does have diabetes and needs dialysis for kidney problems. Therefore, it is very difficult to get this medical attention when you are on the run and in hiding. An Egyptian Newspaper published a funeral article for Osama Bin Laden on Wednesday December 26, 2001. The article stated that he died of complications in the lungs and died a quite and natural death. Is it possible that Bin Laden is dead? Of course it is possible. Would it change American sentiment in Bin Laden was dead? Would America stop pursuing the war in Afghanistan if the US knew that Bin Laden was dead? No, the US is not actively pursuing Bin Laden, they are containing the Taliban. Was Benazir Bhutto killed for informing the media about Bin Laden’s death? Did she die for exposing Omar Sheikh? I don’t believe so. Pravda reports that she said Omar Sheikh’s name at her time of death. However, there is so much controversy surrounding her death it is hard to tell what is true. Pravda also has a history of distorted truths and extreme bias in their reporting.
