It is a known fact that the world is not at peace. The world is actually in crisis. From the recent attack in a vocational school in Finland, to the Georgian -Russia conflict, the unending Palestinian-Israeli crisis, the Iraq and Afganistan Wars, the incessant conflict in Africa (from Sudan to Somalia) and various political crisis (in ZImbabwe, Nigeria). The nuke crisis in Iran and North Korea are time bombs ready to be detonated at any time. The threats of terror attack all over the world. The list is endless..
These crises situation are characterized by loss of both lives and properties and costing governments millions of dollars. This is not to talk of the social impacts of these conflicts; refugee crisis and internally displaced persons arising from these situations. The scourge of HIV/AIDS and the global warming (climate change) are sources of concern and threat to humanity. These two realities are biggest threats to humanity. The recent financial crisis in the US which is affecting the world financial markets is another worry to governements and the populace. Why is the world in crisis and not at peace?
The world is in crisis because human beings have forgotten their creator and have made materialism their gods. Human beings followed their desire to acquire wealth, power and other earthly wishes at all cost by all means available. History has informed us that nations do perish or collapse if their people turn against their creator and refuse to heed the word of their creator. What we see nowdays is people telling lies,engage in alll sorts of indecent acts, commit murder, killings and rise in quest for wealth to the detriment of their spirituality. Men heart is filled with deceit, anger, jealousy, wickedness, hatred and injustices to fellow human beings. Love no longer exist between father and son, wife and husband, sisters and brothers, fellow countrymen and fellow humans.
God said that He will not change the condition of people until they
change what is in their heart. This means that it is the heart that
harbours everything be it good or bad. Until man changes his heart for good and
follow his creator ways, the world will continue to be in crisis. We fail to realise that as each day passes, we are getting closer to meeting our creator. Everything must surely perish one day, everybody will die one day whether they like it or not. And there will be judgement by which reality will dawn on all humans.
If the truth must be revealed, the world can only be at peace if nations, people and men change their hearts for good, love one another and follow the ways of the lord. Otherwise, the world will continue to be in crisis.
