Most of us are accustomed to insurance and have a little knowledge about the importance of coverage for our homes and vehicles, but few people know that there is an insurance coverage that will take care of your funeral expenses.  This type of insurance is classified under preneed arrangement.

Here is a list of important reasons to consider a preneed.

ATo Save Money

A preneed service can actually protect you from the rising cost of a funeral.  Here is how it works: You prearrange your funeral i.e. pick out the casket, cemetery, type of funeral, etc.  Once you've gotten all the details of your funeral arranged a price will be quoted by the funeral director.  Once the price is agreed upon you sign the preneed agreement and the price is locked in.

B.  To Help Your Family

Death is hard on families.  The normal time frame for a service is three days after the death.  In those few days your family will have to set aside a time to meet with the funeral director and tell them who you were, your accomplishments, your life story...plus your family history.  They will have to pick out a casket, choose a burial site, pall bearers, etc.  This will be the worst days of their life because they have just lost someone they love and in the midst of their grief they must deal with the final arrangements.

C.  Cut Excess

Sometimes when a family is dealing with grief they are more apt to overspend.  They want only the best for the one they loved whatever it cost.

A preneed arrangement goes with you wherever you go.  If you move the prearrangement will be good in another state, another funeral home.

Prearranging means you have control of your last wishes and decisions.  This is one decision that helps those you love when you're no longer there to help.
